MEET THE DJ
Tony Edwards AKA DJ Tony Chill is our resident music man.
Tony is a long time music lover, journalist, radio presenter and DJ. You can regularly catch him on a Sat nights, busting out the killer hits behind the DJ booth.
Tony will be hitting the decks at Della this Aus Day weekend. We sat down to find out why Della is the place to PARTY & what bangerzzz we can expect to get down to on the D-Floor!
Favourite genre of music to play?
I'd like to think my myself as a multi-genre specialist, but at Della Hyde it's always about the hip hop, rnb, pop and quality dance music with dashes of soul, dancehall, trap and UKG at times.
Go to track to get the crowd pumping?
I'm feeling Pia Mia's vocal approach lately, she makes amazing pop music. Mayer Hawthorne's Tuxedo project is making some great crossover disco right now. And for a throwback Estelle and Kanye's 'American Boy' sounds evergreen to me.
What bangerz can we expect to hear this Aus Day weekend?
Drake, Kayne, Rihanna, Drake, Kanye, Rihanna, Drake, Kanye, Rihanna on repeat. No there'll be a HUGE range of stuff from all eras: eighties, nineties, noughties and tens. The Della Hyde residents Krystel Diola, Shan Frenzie, DJ Daigo and DJ D-Flat are some of the most experienced hip hop party specialists in the country. ALL ERAS, ALL KILLER, NO FILLER.
Did you vote for Hottest 100 this year? Who was in your top 10?
I haven't done it yet, thanks for the reminder! I'm going to support our world-beating locals like Flume, The Presets and Touch Sensitive. And I think Snakehips is one of the best international dance producers at the moment.
Why should you party at Della this Aus Weekend?
Well you've got the incredible hospitality offered by Della Hyde's dedicated mixologists, the respectful dancefloor, the big EAW sound system and, like I mentioned before, a crack team of the finest party-starting DJs in the country. A recipe custom designed for your party pleasure.
Party at Della this Aus Day Weekend & get down on the D-Floor to the best bangerzzz!
